Packing for Nationals
If you are traveling for the tournament, supply your students with a packing list. It is helpful if this checklist also takes into consideration the weather conditions expected in the place you are going to versus the place you are coming from.
Start Here: Teaching Extemporaneous Speaking
In Extemporaneous Speaking, students have limited time to prepare a speech on a domestic or international topic. Students will develop the ability to synthesize complex information quickly and form a clear, persuasive argument.
These lessons will develop and assess a student’s understanding of important political, economic, and cultural issues, along with critical thinking and analytical skills.
Students Will Be Able To:

Research, outline, and deliver an original speech from memory with limited preparation.

Evaluate the credibility and accuracy of a variety of sources.

Present information, findings, and supporting evidence clearly, concisely, and logically such that listeners can follow the line of reasoning.

Adapt speech to a variety of contexts and tasks by utilizing nonverbal communication, vocabulary, and the tone, rate, volume, and pitch of their voice.
